Hi folks. As you know we just had our 1st contest at www.ShortSaleSuperStars.com. You can read about it here.
We made a couple of changes as we went along. Hey...we own the site and can do what we want :) The first change we made was Wendy and I asked our site moderator, Jeff Payne, to help with the judging. Jeff's a great guy and he's cheap labor so we took advantage of him. Thanks Jeff!!!
Secondly, we upped the ante with the prizes. We, as in Wendy and I, decided that since there were so many great entries, 16 to be exact, that ALL should be rewarded. We'll tell you shortly what we decided to do. But first.....
....here are the 3 winners:
- 1st place goes to Stephanie Jarmon for "Why I help Kansas City homeowners negotiate Short Sales--and how they could go better..." Stephanie's article is about FEAR and how it affects homeowners' decision making or lack of. Her goal is to empower these folks with knowledge. She also has some excellent ideas on how lenders could make the process easier.
- 2nd place goes to Katerina Gasset for "Why Do We do Short Sales". WOW! Is all I can say about this one. A heart breaking look at what Short Sale agents deal with on a daily basis. Katerina's post reminds us that we are dealing with real people with real hardships. Her post is exactly why www.ShortSaleSuperstars.com exist. To help people.
- 3rd place goes to Ray Saenz for "What can be done to help make the Short Sale process run smoother?" Ray's article is a comprehensive outline to assist agents with handling the short sale process. I can tell he spent a lot of time and effort on his entry. Thank you Ray.

OK...back to the prizes. We have decided to give all 3 of the top place winners the Short Sale Agent Training Webinar. Bryant- Thank you so much. I sure appreciate you putting on the contest. I was super busy but tear jerking stories are my cup of tea, :) so I thought I should share our story of Arthur. One of my favorite stories in short sales.
Bryant - I miss this one! I have been busy with the changes I am making for the new year.
Bryant, Wendy, Jeff - how CREATIVE!!! We in NoVA were hit very hard by the bubble bursting and I know short sales are going to be a significant source of business for us in 2010+. I cannot wait to wrap my little brain around those articles. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for taking time away from your own productivity to do this for the rest of us.

Bryant - The sharing on the www.ShortSaleSuperstars.com site is really coming together. It really was a team project and we all learned from the bloggers. Congratulations to Stephanie, Katerina and Ray-- and thank you to everyone for being part of the group!

I guess I have been absent lately, I missed the contest and didn't realize you had your own web site called www.shrotsalesuperstars.com. I am really anxious to check it out and see what I have been missing.
I love the feature page of ActiveRain ~ I would miss out on so much valuable information without it!
This is a nice contest, and a very nice web site and idea, too. But after talking to so many agents who think they know how to do short sales, I am convinced that 95% of agents should stop this practice immediately. We need specialized licensing to make this process more consistent for clients. I have seen a lot of homes end up in foreclosure because the agent who took on the short sale was basically winging it and had no idea what to do. Even worse, they were too proud to ask for help.

Congrats everyone!! Agent Aaron, I could not agree more with you!!!! Too many agents are taking short sale listings because it is easy and they do not have much of a clue how to handle the actual short sale. I wish there were some sort of specific licensing or specific guidelines that an agent MUST follow or they can not work a short sale.
